NICU Cheer 2020 - Father's Day
Our inaugural Father's Day deliveries in 2020 were a big success!!!
We've never had so many lovely messages and photos sent in by families and nothing (other than my kids) makes me happier than hearing that we've cheered up families in the NICU. Dads right across Melbourne were surprised to get a bag from us including snacks, toiletries, Snuggle Hearts, NICU Milestone cards, NICU Family poster and more...

July 2020:
NICU Cheer given the all clear to go ahead with Father's Day deliveries
Corona-virus affected our operations and unfortunately we were not able to go ahead with our planned inaugural Mother's Day gift-bags drop off in 2020, so we are very pleased to announce that we have been given clearance by Infection Control departments at all four of Melbourne's major NICU hospitals to donate Father's Day Bags this coming September. We have had to drastically alter our plans to comply with Stage 4 restrictions and lock-down, but we are still going ahead - just with new safety systems and protocols in place.
It will be a little different and much harder to do without our army of volunteers who help us, but we are so pleased that we will be able to spread some cheer to the Fathers of Melbourne's smallest and sickest babies with a Dad Bag this Father's Day.

WHY WE'RE ADDING THE BOOKS:
Reading to your baby when they're in the incubator cot, even when you cannot touch or hold them yet, is a beautiful way to bond with your baby, so we have added a number of books to our NICU Cheer gift registry. It is such a simple and beautiful way for Dad to bond with baby too which is really important and the beauty of a book is it's the gift that will keep on giving for years after this Father's Day.

but we still need other items.
All of the DAD books have been donated for our Father's Day gift-bags with the public generously buying over 100 of the DAD books we wanted for the bags within the first week of our book-drive going public.
AUTHOR DONATES: One of the book's Authors, Dave "Hughesy" Hughes also donated generously giving us 113 copies of his book "How (Not) To Annoy Dad" which was the total amount remaining that we needed to finish of our book-drive.
