Monash Health Foundation thanks Donors

WOW!!! What an amazing night at the Monash Health 'Donor Appreciation Event: Hope Grows With You'.

Feeling so seen and so appreciated by such an enormous & vitally important foundation like Monash Health is very humbling. Thank you so much to the MHF for inviting their supporters and donors, including NICU Cheer, along for an evening of thanks at this inaugural donor appreciation event. A cocktail reception was held in Melbourne’s oldest subscription library at The Athenaeum, followed by the beautiful evening of entertainment provided by Eclective Strings who were phenomenal - performing Taylor Swift, Queen, The Beatles, Coldplay, U2, Louis Armstrong, & more with their string quartet.

Whilst thanks, is never needed, nor expected, when you receive it anyway it is validating and so nice to have the blood, sweat, tears (and in my case multiple broken bones) that go into NICU Cheer, acknowledged and publicly appreciated. To have it from such an important organisation is just amazing. Monash Health is Victoria’s largest public health service and proudly provides healthcare to one quarter of Melbourne’s population. They also have the biggest Victorian NICU that NICU Cheer supports at Monash Children’s with 64 fully staffed cots – 32 each in their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the rest in their Special Care Nursery (SCN). In 2023 at the request of the Monash Health Foundation we expanded to also donate NICU Cheer bags for the Monash Health Special Care Nurseries at their satellite sites in the Dandenong, Sandringham & Casey Hospitals too.

The new additions mean nearly 400 of our bags each year go just to Monash hospitals, and we are so honoured to support them in this way and were so excited to expand to three more of their hospitals last year. Thank you, Monash Health Foundation, you truly know how to make a difference in the lives of not only those you care for, but also those who want to help you on the journey.

Thank you to NICU Cheer Squad member Lauren for being my wonderful +1 Another evening highlight was finally meeting Basem, the Corporate & Community Partnerships Manager for The MH Foundation, in real life, after years of online & phone call chats coordinating our deliveries that lead to a friendship. So great to finally get that hug Bas!
