Tell us a bit about yourself?
I am a mum of 3 , 2 out of those 3 were premature babies, and I am currently pregnant with our next bundle of joy. When I am not being a mum you can find me at the local hospital as a ward clerk or on in the laundry listening to podcasts or watching any of the Real Housewives franchises.
When & why did you join the NICU Cheer Squad / Snuggle Hearts Sewing Group?
I joined the NICU Cheer Squad because my son Harvey and I received
one of the Christmas bags at Monash Hospital in 2019.
I have been messaging Maddie ever since I received our Christmas bag in December 2019 and have done multiple packing parties and deliveries of bags to Monash Health from 2020.
What's been your favourite part of NICU Cheer?
I have found friends that feel like family and understand the struggles
that I have been through since becoming a party of the NICU club.
What's your favourite item in the NICU Cheer bags?
My favourite item in the bag I received was the Staff poster. All of the
staff that had taken care of Harvey were able to sign it and we are able
to look back fondly and remember the good times, not just the bad.
What would you say to those considering joining the NICU Cheer Squad?
Come along to one of our packing days, have fun with us, get to know us
and support families going through the NICU journey. If you cant come
along, donate to us, or sew for us. Even if it’s just once, it’ll mean the
world to us to have you helping.
Anything else you want to share?
The NICU Cheer Squad honestly changed my life. I didn’t have a super
wonderful time in the NICU or post NICU but finding this group of
women helped me become an amazing NICU mum.
